A former colleague of mine designed this 2011 calendar, featuring 12 photographs taken by 12 photographers, and primary use of Archer type. As a member of Chinese Youth Camera Club (CYCC), she volunteered her time for the project and all proceeds from sales will be donated to The Pediatric HIV/AIDS Treatment Support for AIDS orphans in Fuyang, China. Earlier this year, being the artistically inclined family member, I was put in charge of all the design work for my sisters wedding. We all know you can’t fail with Archer, so I went all Archer. My father is in the printing business, so it was easy to have many items personalized. With the bar tab as high as it was, I don’t think many people noticed the details, but I like to think it made the day that much more special.

Sorry it’s been a little slow around here lately. The holidays are upon us and I’ve been feeling distracted, homesick, and overwhelmed all season. Love how the city lights up at every corner – there’s just so much to do, so many people to see, so many festive activities to attend to before 2011!

Watched a great TED talk by Marian Bantjes about the intricacy of beautiful things and following your heart to inspire joy and creativity:

If you don’t know who Marian Bantjes is – she’s basically design goddess. Above is a screenshot from her website (Archer only showed up for me in Safari). I especially love these insanely gorgeous Valentines she made last year by laser cutting into old Christmas cards, creating unique colors and patterns. How I’d love to be on her mailing list!
